Valentine’s Day Experience In Golden
The City of Golden has a storied history and we are very proud to show it off. We also have a lot of fun and unique things to do in this town if you know where to look, both historical in nature and not. When I started Golden History Tours, I wanted to have some fun for myself by sharing Golden’s history with others and telling stories of the Wild West, but I also recognized that the community ideals of this town were not to be ignored. You can’t help but feel it as you walk down Washington Avenue. I began thinking of ways to incorporate my tours with other local business to bring a more rich Golden experience to locals and visitors alike.
For my Brewery Crawl Wild West Tours I partnered up with three local microbreweries: Golden City Brewery, Barrels & Bottles, and Mountain Toad Brewing. This tour has been so successful that I decided it was time to reach out to some other local businesses to see who was interested in partnering up to create another unique Golden experience. With Valentine’s Day around the corner, I thought who better than Mountain Lux Candles.

Mountain Lux often partners with local businesses, and Sharon was excited to work together to create a candle-making experience and a tour package, so we worked out a post-Valentine’s Day deal. Post-Valentine’s Day because, well, I’m celebrating with my own Valentine on Friday, and Mountain Lux already has Friday Valentine’s Day event, Scents & Sips, running.
On Saturday, February 15, come on out to Golden and create your own candle with the fine folks at Mountain Lux Candles, then, while your unique candle is setting we’ll take a tour through Golden to tell stories of Golden’s past and the Wild West with stops at three breweries along the way. Then you can pick up your candle and a Golden Ticket after the tour is done. We’ll have cupcakes from Gold Mine Cupcakes while you’re making your candle, and a 10-oz beer is provided at each brewery. Candle building begins at noon and the tour ends around 3:30pm. Skip the traditional fancy dinner and long reservation lists and try something unique with your special someone this year. You’ll each take some some fun memories, a little knowledge, and a personalized scented candle created and designed by you.
