Mini-tours will begin on the half-hour starting at the Golden Visitor’s Center.

Free History Tours Before Golden's Candlelight Walk

Golden, Colorado celebrates the holidays in grand fashion, and this Friday Washington Avenue will be filled with candles and carolers as Golden’s Candlelight Walk kicks off the season with the lighting of the Clear Creek Path on Friday, December 6th.

A group of Goldenites gathers along the Washington Street bridge during Golden’s annual Candlelight Walk.

The Candle Light Walk begins at 6:30pm at the top of Washington Ave and 15th street, known to the settlers of Golden as Courthouse Hill, and proceeds down Washington to the Avenue bridge. This historic section of town boasts stories that harkon back to Golden’s foundings and include ideals of entrepreneurship, recreation, and culture that still exist today.

Join me for some free historical stories from 4-6pm as we walk Washington Ave together and discover Golden’s roots. I’ll be making my way between 13th and 10th along Washington, stopping at some historical buildings along the way and telling stories of Golden’s past. Jump in at any time, and we’ll regroup at the Visitor’s Center every half hour to start another tour.
