Golden Ghosts

Scary Stories and Tasty Spirits

The glimmer of gold lured a slew of fortune seekers to the Golden Valley. Precious few struck it rich. Most skedaddled with empty pockets. Some...well, they're still here, as the good Lord would have it!

Nowadays, the specters of Golden still echo through the veins of the mines and ramble along the streets, hunting for a place to hang their spectral hats...if you've got the grit to lend an ear. Saddle up with us for a moonlit journey of spine-tingling tales as we wander the historic trails of Golden, Colorado, on the prowl for those stubborn spirits who reckon it ain't time for their final roundup just yet.

The Details

This ain't just a round-up of phantom yarns, partner. Our talented story-slingers will haul you deep into Golden’s shadowy history, where the righteous rub elbows with the rascals! The tours kick up dust for about two hours, starting and ending at drinkeries in the heart of Golden. Wet your whistle on us at the launch point, Goosetown Station, but the spirits you'll wrangle at our midpoint and endpoint saloons are on your own dime. We'll be sharing hair-raising tales at both to keep your thirst for intrigue alive. Non-alcoholic options are ready for the taking, too.

Now, don't reckon this to be one of those futuristic TV ghost hunts (Zak Bagans, take a seat). We're here to spin the eerie tales of Golden’s Wild West past and introduce you to the restless spirits still hitching a ride on the mortal coil. It’s up to you whether you have a ghostly encounter or not.

Heed our warning, cowpoke! This tour rustles up tales of cold-blooded murder, lonesome suicides, and other chilling deeds that might make a seasoned outlaw shudder.

Parking

This here adventure don't loop back to its starting point, and hitchin' your wagon at Goosetown Station is tighter than a new pair of boots (very limited parking), plus they'll have shut the stable doors and killed the candles by the time we're through. We suggest finding a spot for your steed in the corrals of Downtown Golden or in Miner’s Alley, just a stone's throw from the old Astor House. Our ghostly journey will wind down in Miner’s Alley, near the crossroads of 12th Street and Washington Ave.
